Dear Parishioners,
Happy Easter! As you drive past 824 Melody Drive, you might notice that we have begun construction on Holy Family Hall. Our builder, Jeff Long of Premier Construction, has hit the ground running. Last week pilings were delivered, and by the end of the week they were driven into the ground. Currently, we have wood on the property to begin the framing up of the foundation. I am very excited to see the process moving forward. With good weather, we could see the building up in 5 to 6 months and have another space for our constantly growing parish. Thank you for your patience – and prayers – with this process.
As you come down Pomona, you will also see that we are completing construction of our Two-story external storage building behind the gym. Mike Cruppi has designed our storage building to meet the needs of our
growing ministries. He is currently building out the interior levels. This will allow storage for so many of our older ministries and newer ministries: our school, SAMA, the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph’s Altar, the Alpha Course, etc. I want to thank Mike for his hard work. I also want to thank school parent Scott Mailhet and his team for their work on the firewall, as well as Chuck Giffin, Donny Cassara and Mark Nuss for their time in building out the interior.
We are now about to apply for permitting on our Adoration Chapel. Our builder, Dominic Godbold with Godbold Construction is donating his time to lead the project, while contracting subs to complete the job. Pricing is almost complete and we will be applying for a building permit with Jefferson Parish. Permitting should be a simpler process than Holy Family Hall, and the project could be done within 2-3 months once construction begins.
St. Joseph was a carpenter! We pray for inspiration, safety, and perseverance as we move forward. Thank you for your strong support of our parish mission! We couldn’t do what we do without your support.
Know that Fr. Lawrence and I pray for you daily.
Fr. Beau
